When people describe an encounter with adult film legend Julia Ann, they often express sentiments to the effect of: "She is simply one of the most beautiful, nicest people I’ve ever met", as if someone of such iconic importance couldn't also be down-to-earth, personable, and approachable. People with such a mystique and reputation aren't typically like Julia Ann. In fact, there is no one else quite like Julia Ann.
Ann debuted in adult films in 1993 in Andrew Blake's "Hidden Obsessions". She has been a contract girl throughout most of her career. Her first exclusive contract was with Vivid Entertainment, then with Digital Playground (1999), then with Wicked Pictures (2002). Her contact with Wicked was renewed in 2006.
She was one half of the touring strip club feature act Blondage along with fellow adult star Janine Lindemulder. During this time, she had a long-term lesbian relationship with Lindemulder.
Julia is an outspoken animal rights activist and a long-time member of PETA.
She married adult film director Michael Raven on June 21, 2003.
While many veteran performers of her caliber would have been content to retire after such a career milestone, Julia Ann has worked to perfect her craft. She has continued to create and star in new projects, a point beautifully illustrated in 2005’s designer release, "Wicked Divas: Julia Ann, The Legend".
She was contracted with Wicked Pictures again in 2006, but in May, 2007 she posted on the members section of her website that she had not renewed her contract with Wicked. On June 28, 2007 her first scene since leaving Wicked Pictures debuted on Naughty America's Naughty Office.
